Winter 2003 Newsletter

From the Director:

Recently, I heard disturbing news and although it may seem slightly disinteresting to most of you, I feel it is a matter worth mentioning. A great colleague-highly respected by most and admired by all has taken a step down from her position as a well-respected canine rescuer. The reason it strikes me as alarming, it the simple reason that Kathy had such passion for the dogs, which passed through her organization, it is difficult for me to believe that she has decided to move on in her life.

Kathy Nixon is a respectful and dedicated woman who served as the Golden Retriever Rescue Club of Charlotte’s Chairperson. Not only did Kathy create one of the tightest ships I have ever seen, she also kept it in motion for over thirteen years. I can only hope that Swiftdogz Border Collie Rescue is regarded as respectable as GRRCC. And continues to maintain the high level of quality it has thus far.

As a tribute to Kathy, this newsletter serves as a foundation to a rescue mission like no other, and Swiftdogz Border Collie Rescue/Canines Can Change plans to uphold standards and ideals to which Kathy has instilled and inspired in me. So, Kathy if you read this, thank you and best wishes. You truly are my inspiration and motivation; the “Goldens” will not be the same without you.

To our readers:

This past year has been a productive one in many ways. First, I would like to thank Debby Townsend for creating our pivot point, which can be viewed at:

www.swiftdogzbordercollierescue.com

This website has been provided to us by one of our cherished adopters, And Debby has done a beautiful job as well as put in a lot of hard work. Therefore, Debby, we cannot thank you enough for the wonderful work you have done here for us.

In addition, we have placed several dogs to wonderful families and success stories can be read online at our new website!

Swiftdogz has had its share of “downs” this year as well…

In memory of Jenna ABC: We wish you eternal happiness
…Sympathy and sorrow are sent again to the Rhinehult Family…

In memory of Ricky: May peace be with you
…We extend our deepest regrets to the Martin household…

In memory of Mandi: May you Rest in Peace

What happened to the photo contest?

Now, I know each of you have an amazing photo of your four-legged family member! More than ever, we need your pooch’s photo! So, take some great shots and send them our way! You can send them via email, or just drop one in the mail, one way we need your mug shots! Go on! Get in the picture with your dog; dress up, whatever wags your tail! So, flip a Frisbee and hop to it! Send us those photos!
