Holly
Adopted
4-18-04
Holly is wonderful! She is
fitting in great. We walk her on short walks about 4 times a day so we can
catch people out in the neighborhood. She is really coming out of her
shell. My dauaghteres have her slepping with them in shifts. She is loving
that. Se enjoys the backyard play with Little Theodore as well. They chase
each other around and wrestle. Somehow Throdore always wins. I have taught
her to shake, give high fives, lay down, roll over and she sits and stays
when I place a treat right in front of her nose. She is so smart. The night
before last we had some car break-ins in our neighborhood. They got in our
cars and managed to get our garage door open. Holly threw a fit and was
barking before I even knew what was going on. I thought she was just having
a rough night. I told her to settle down and to hush. She dept gruffing
until the phone rang. It was 911 telling me the police were outside and
needed me to come to the door. The police K9's had tracked the guys to our
house and they saw the door open. Needless to say no one was hurt and the
police think that Holly scared them out of the house. They said they were
scared when they heard her bark. She has been very protective of the girls
and me since. Anytime someone knocks at the door she is right there
sniffing and checking them out. I feel blessed to have her in our home. I
saved her and she has already in just 2 short days returned the favor. I
love her more than I can explain to you. It is like we were meant to be a
family. Thank you for letting me bring her home. The police said she is a
very special girl to learn to protect her family. I am just extremely
humbled by the love that Holly shows us.

Maggie
Adopted
4-16-04
Maggi is doing beautifully. You
would never know this was a new enviornment for her. She has a new toy that
she loves to catch. We think she is the perfect dog for us. She seems to
think so too!
We are very pleased with her
obedience. She knows when we are leaving, though, and does not readily go
into the washroom. Once there, and with the baby gate up, she does very
well. Last night, she started barking after we went to bed. I got up and
told her to be quiet. She got on her bed and I heard no more from her. She
has claimed our hearts. We are tickled with her. Thanks so much.
7/04 - Mag, has adjusted well
to the island life. Chasing gulls and pipers when the rangers are not
around. She works every day with me in the backseat of the truck. In fact
she has become the office mascot. I could not have ever asked for a better
dog, as I have owned many but Maggie reins supreme. Thanks again.

Cassie
Adopted
4-9-04
Cassie's new family endured special
circumstances, and through it all stuck diligently by Cassie's side for
they knew that Cassie was their girl! Cassie was adopted by a wonderful
family in Pennsylvania, and through the 12 hours distance, which separated
them for nearly a month, they were committed to waiting for Cassie to
arrive. Finally, the day came, and Cassie was transported by Joe Maringo of
SPARRO. We appreciate the dedication of all of those involved to help
Cassie arrive safely at home. Congratulations to the Cuthrell family for
their newest family member.

Molli
Adopted
1-14-04
This photo of Molli was taken
nearly 6 weeks after her adoption. Here she is graduating from her
obedience class-cap and gown included!
Molli now resides with a
dedicated family in Concord, NC area. As you can see, they have taken her
to a basic obedience course, which contained 6 border collies, for
training. Molli thrived in the class, and has a wonderful demeanor.
Recently, Molli got to sleep over as a Swiftdog while her family was out of
town. She had a great time rolling around with some of her old friends. We
are glad that Molly is finally home, and that her family loves her very
much!

Winchester
U.
S. Customs and Border Protection Canine Training Instructor, Ken Molidor,
stands along side Winchester, a once wayward Labrador Retriever who passed
the Criteria to be accepted into the U. S. Customs Canine Enforcement
Program in Fort Royal Virginia. Winchester was rescued from the local
animal control, and was assessed to determine his potential as a drug
detection canine. However, Winchester will not become an Enforcement Canine
unless he successfully graduates the program. We feel confident that he
will serve our country well!

Kira (formerly Katie)
Adopted
11-22--04
Katie, now Kira is pictured here
after her forever family took her home. Kira was rescued from Cabarrus PETS
society, as she had severe separation anxiety, and ate nearly $3000.00 of
her former owners lincoln towncar! Kira is the picture perfect example of
how important management is when owning a Border Collie...take a listen to
her new families update!
Kira's mom writes:
Kira, formerly Katie has
adapted readily into her new surroundings. She enjoys her daily walks with
her adopted family and romps with her new companion, Zorro (a black
lab-mix). Kira's sweet nature and willingness to please make her a charmer
on all fronts. Her ocy blue eyes captivates all who see her. She loves to
run and tackle Zorro in the park across the street and absolutely enjoys
flyball. She has become part of our family, with the alph cat even
tolerating this newcomer! We enjoy interacting and playing with Kira, and
appreciate all of the support and work that Jenni did with her. It has been
a positive experience in adopting a wonderful Border Collie!

Fly
Adopted
2-11-04
Fly is pictured on top
just weeks before his departure as a Drug Detection dog. Stormmi, his
friend, and support is also shown at the bottom. During his stay, Fly
bonded to Stormmi as she helped him learn that things aren't so bad here!
Congrats! Fly, You Make Us Proud!
Fly now resides in Virginia
and is on his way to becoming a Drug Detection Canine. We wish him all the
luck in the world, and hope he gets his share of Narcotics off the streets
of the United States!
We obtained Fly from an owner
surrender in April of 2003. Fly was definately a high drive border collie,
and loved to play ball, hide and seek and aimed to please. Being high
drive, Fly needed a home where he would have stimulation. We sent Fly to a
wonderful home where he could do agility--but this didn't seem to be enough
for Fly. We explored the option of Drug Detection, and called US Customs,
only to learn that Fly DID have what it takes-but Border Collies are not an
acceptable breed for the Federal Agency. So we continued searching and it
paid off!
