Rosie
Rosie has been adopted by a wonderful lady who has had collies for over 30 years. It was a long, 7-month haul for this girl, but we are glad that she is finally home. |

MacKenzie (Marvin)
Adopted 5-04-03 (Marvin), now MacKenzie is pictured here with his new mommy Susan, in Vriginia. Today, MacKenzie lives a life of royalty, love and care. From Rags to riches, this beautiful charming rough collie spent a great deal of time here as a Swiftdog, to recover from his abusive past. Mackenzie received the Nathan King Cole Award for 2003 *(read about it in the Summer 2003 newsletter) to recognize his unconditional effort to forgive and forget his unbecoming past. MacKenzie is now a prosperous member of society and we are VERY proud of his accomplishments! |

Lilli
Pictured here is Lilli's new family in Virginia. On the left, is her new girl, Caitie and her new dad, Paul and her mom, Susan. Lilli and her new adoption brother, Kobi, seem to get along perfectly, even though they just met...Here's what Lilli's people have to say: ...She is doing great! She has really gotten comfortable with us and our routine. She and Kobi are crazy about each other...you would think they had grown up together--they have the best time playing, and they play all the time! Either running and chasing squirrels, or wrestling on the ground, or playing tug-o-war. It is really fun to watch them...she's fast as a bullet...sometimes he just watches her run laps around the back yard. But she's great at engaging him in play and is so confident with him. She is a complete equal in their doggy relationship. She's totally comfortable with Caitie and me about 90% of the time. She's slowly warming up to Paul. She sits with him every night while he feeds her chicken treats and then he gives her a good full belly rub...she loves it! ...She has been amazingly adaptable and seems so happy. When we get home and come through the door she is ecstatic, her tail practically wags off! So, we'll keep you posted on her progress, thank you again, and we will keep in touch. |

Najia
Najia, pictured here on the left, was adopted to a pit-bull friendly family, who has another pitbull named "Spottie" Najia is our sweet girl. She has boundless energy, but also is happy curled up on the couch. She's made lots of friends at the dog park. And boy is she fast - she keeps up with the greyhounds and other speedy dogs who she loves to chase around while barking -- maybe she picked up some herding moves from her Border Collie roommates in North Carolina! She likes to fetch baseballs, and we're working on her bringing them back. Our Najia is an attentive, well-behaved girl who is always the first to come when called. You guys did a great job with her. |

Kenia
Kenia was recently adopted by a wonderful couple from NC. You see, Martha is nearly walker/wheelchair bound and needed a faithful companion. She had tried adopting several dogs, which did not meet the environmental needs due to their exuberance. However, the angel she was looking for was in mid-stream of completing her pre-therapy dog recognition and was a charter canine in the Canines Can Change Program. Her name was Kenia. Martha and her husband Pat saw Kenia online and fell in love. Through the adoption process, Martha took the time to ask detailed questions about the temperament of Kenia, and was concerned about every step of the way for her care. Once Kenia met Martha and Pat, she bacome quickly bonded to them, and today Kenia sticks like glue to Martha's side. We commend the O'Leary's for their high dedication throughout the adoption process, and for their undying patience. Kenia certainly deserves a home such as the O'Leary's, and the O'learys deserve a true angel such as Kenia. |

Harlee
Harlee is an excellent dog! You have done a fantastic job with training him and having him prepared for us....Harlee follows Ann everywhere...you are correct. Harlee is a frisbee fanatic. I have really enjoyed playing with him. I have a H2O football that he loves to play catch with. Molly (our other border collie) is making some adjustments. Ann and I continue to take every opportunity to love on her. Ann has been wise and has kept Molly's schedule the same. ... What a loving dog he is! Bruce and Ann Bucholtz Canines Can Change would also like to personally thank Harlee's student handler at the Glenn Center for all of her hard work and patience while working with Harlee to earn his Canine Good Citizen. |
